Katie & Phil

Katie and Phil met at an elementary school where they were both teachers.  And as Katie would describe it, “It was love at first sight.”  Ever since Katie was 12 years old, she had dreamed of getting married at the Williamsburg Winery after attending a wedding just a mile from her home as a child.

It was very important to Katie that the inspiration and atmosphere for the wedding be warm, inviting, and simple.  Keeping the focus on their marriage and everyone being able to join in on the celebration.  The winery was the perfect backdrop to begin this special day.

From the moment we arrived we knew this day was going to be special.  Katie and Phil had each written letters to one another that they read aloud at their first look before the ceremony.  Their heartfelt words and happy tears set the mood for what was going to be a great wedding day.

The ceremony took place on the lawn behind the winery, and was officiated by their dear friend Phillip Corey Levin.  As a classically trained musician, and loving instrumental violin music, she had some of her best friends play during the precessional, and recessional.  There was also a special choral piece sung during the ceremony by other friends in attendance.

After their beautiful ceremony and photos on the lawn, we all made our way inside for the reception.  In a dimly lit room, with candles & greenery, the festivities began.  Formal dances took place center stage, and then we moved into heartfelt toasts from the bridal party.  After the cake cutting, the dance floor was open and filled with joy the rest of the evening.
